Fatal Leo, Ind., car crash death of Franklin Dwyer – Obituary
A Spencerville resident succumbed to injuries sustained in a collision over two weeks ago near Leo, Ind.
On May 31st, a collision involving two vehicles (Activity Log #: 24A020492) occurred at approximately 5:33 p.m. at the junction of State Road 1 and North Leo Drive, as reported by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the Allen County Coroner’s Office, on June 14th, they were informed by the hospital that one of the drivers involved in the incident had passed away at 11:45 p.m. that same evening.
The deceased driver was identified by the Allen County Coroner as 88-year-old Franklin Dwyer of Spencerville, who succumbed to multiple blunt impact injuries sustained in the crash.
The coroner has ruled Dwyer’s death as accidental, marking the 13th motor vehicle fatality in Allen County for the year 2024.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway by the Allen County Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
