The identity of the man who was fatally shot near the State Capitol in Harrisburg on Sunday has been confirmed by the Dauphin County Coroner’s office.

Officials at the Coroner’s Office stated that Paul Kattouf, aged 52 and a resident of Harrisburg, was the victim. An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning to determine the exact cause of death.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday when Harrisburg Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of State Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Kattouf deceased at the scene. Police also detained a person suspected to be connected to the shooting.

According to the Dauphin County District Attorney, significant aspects of the investigation include the presence of the shooter’s pregnant wife and young child inside the vehicle during the incident.
