Edward Eugene Parker Jr, 63, of Cuba, Missouri, dies in fatal pedestrian accident on I-44 in northeast Oklahoma early Monday morning.

Edward Eugene Parker Jr, a 63-year-old resident of Cuba, Missouri, tragically lost his life in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 44 in northeast Oklahoma during the early hours of Monday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, dispatchers received a report at 4:09 am about a man lying in the inside lane of westbound traffic on I-44 Will Rogers Turnpike. Troopers swiftly responded to the scene, where it appeared that multiple vehicles had come to a stop after the incident. However, the initial vehicle that struck Mr. Parker remains unidentified.
Earlier the previous evening, a trooper had provided Mr. Parker with a ride from mile marker 325 eastbound to a convenience store near mile marker 1 in Missouri around 8:30 pm. Despite intending to travel to Cuba, Missouri, Mr. Parker was found later on foot along the inside lane of the westbound interstate near mile marker 325.
The collision necessitated the closure of the westbound lanes for nearly six hours as investigators from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol continued their inquiry into the incident.
