Fatal Bluefield, West Virginia motorcycle crash claims the life of Flemon F. McNutt of Bluefield, Virginia – Obituary
A man wanted on several felony charges in Greeneville, Tennessee, and linked to a white supremacy group, has been identified as the individual who died in a motorcycle accident during a police pursuit in Bluefield, West Virginia, on Saturday night.
According to the Bluefield, WV Police Department, 56-year-old Flemon F. McNutt from Bluefield, Virginia, succumbed to injuries he sustained in a crash that occurred after his motorcycle was detected traveling at 95 mph on Route 460 westbound.
Patrolman D.W. Lester reported that the incident began shortly after 9 p.m. when he spotted the motorcycle and recorded its speed on radar.
Lester attempted to pull over the motorcycle, but the rider veered off Route 460 onto Leatherwood Lane, continuing at high speed onto College Avenue and then Maryland Avenue.
While attempting to turn right at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Montclair at 65 mph, the driver lost control and crashed in front of TLC Dentistry.
McNutt was transported to WVU Princeton Community Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Lester noted that the Harley Davidson motorcycle was not registered in the system, and the vehicle identification number appeared to have been removed, suggesting it might have been stolen.
The incident remains under investigation.
