Fatal Charleston County motorcycle collision claims the life of Ashleigh McWilliams of Charleston, South Carolina – Obituary.
A 33-year-old woman lost her life Monday after a motorcycle crash on Highway 61 in Charleston County. Ashleigh McWilliams passed away at the Medical University of South Carolina following the accident, as reported by Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
Shortly before 5 p.m., McWilliams was riding on the elevated South Carolina Highway 61 North off-ramp of the Fielding Connector toward Highway 61 and Wesley Drive when she lost control, plummeting off the overpass onto the road below.
In response, investigators closed the Fielding Connector northbound at Ripley Point Drive and the Highway 61 South connection toward US-17 North to conduct a thorough investigation. The road was reopened at 7:25 p.m. Monday.
The investigation into the collision is still ongoing in Charleston.
