Fatal Palomino Valley shooting death of Indra Souza – Obituary
An elderly man from Reno, 81-year-old Jimmy Shores, faces upgraded charges to include murder following a tragic incident in Palomino Valley. Initially accused of battery with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in a structure, Shores now confronts the more severe charge in connection with the shooting death of 46-year-old Indra Souza.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire on Microwave Road in Reno around 9:45 a.m. on July 9. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Souza critically wounded by a gunshot.
Through subsequent investigation, law enforcement identified Jimmy Shores, who shared a residence with the victim, as the alleged perpetrator. Tragically, despite medical efforts, Souza succumbed to his injuries on July 14.
