Fatal Jamestown car crash death of Kamari Lawson – Obituary
In a tragic update to a story previously reported, a car crash just outside of Jamestown on Monday evening resulted in the deaths of two children and left six others injured. The incident occurred when an SUV, carrying a total of eight people, lost control and rolled off the road into a water slough while being passed by a semi-truck, approximately 10 miles west of Jamestown.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), first responders arrived to find the driver, Stachia Lawson, along with five children, emerging from the water unaided. Family members later identified the deceased children as brothers Kamari Lawson, aged 10, and Logan Lawson, aged 7. Their bodies were discovered underwater, about 25 feet from where the SUV had landed in the slough. Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser noted that the slough was nine feet deep due to recent rainfall.
Stachia Lawson sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.
