Authorities in New Hampshire have identified the victim of a fiery collision that occurred on Friday afternoon in Conway as a 54-year-old man from Porter, Maine. Conway police responded to the incident on East Main Street shortly before 4 p.m., involving a 2022 Peterbilt tractor-trailer and a 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck, according to a statement from the New Hampshire Department of Safety.
Investigators determined that the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound when it veered across the center line and collided with the westbound pickup truck. Following the impact, both vehicles erupted in flames.
Steven Hawkes, the driver of the pickup truck, succumbed to injuries sustained during the crash. Meanwhile, Andrew Ouellette, 35, who was driving the tractor-trailer, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Memorial Hospital.
Assistance at the scene was provided by the New Hampshire State Police Troop E and G Barracks, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, the Conway Fire Department, and Crowell’s Towing.
