Authorities have identified the individual who perished in a collision involving an SUV and a semi-truck in Dunn County.
As per an updated statement from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased driver of the SUV has been identified as Wayne Myers from the Town of Springbrook.
The initial report from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office outlines that on July 17, 2024, at approximately 10:46 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to 710th Street at 240th Avenue in the Town of Spring Brook following reports of a collision involving a semi-truck and an SUV.
Upon arrival, responders discovered that the sole occupant of the SUV, identified as 77-year-old Wayne Myers, had no signs of life. Despite efforts to revive him, he could not be resuscitated.
The Dunn County Medical Examiner was summoned to the scene and pronounced Wayne Myers deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a fully loaded log truck was traveling eastbound on 240th Avenue at the time of the incident. The SUV, traveling southbound on 710th Street, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and proceeded into the intersection where the collision occurred.
The driver of the semi-truck reportedly did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by authorities.
