Fatal New Mexico crash death of Adrian Alejandro Cruz – Obituary
One driver has been identified following a deadly accident on Interstate 25 on Thursday night.
Around 10:50 p.m., New Mexico State Police (NMSP) responded to a collision near mile marker 59 on I-25 involving two commercial trucks.
When officers arrived, both vehicles were engulfed in flames, resulting in “complete burn-through of both trucks,” according to NMSP.
Authorities determined that one of the trucks was traveling north when it struck an elk, causing the driver to swerve left, cross the median, and collide with a southbound truck. The impact is believed to have ignited the fire.
Adrian Alejandro Cruz, of El Paso, Texas, has been identified as one of the drivers. The identity of the second driver remains unknown. The investigation by NMSP is ongoing.
