Fatal Annville crash death of Amanda Thome – Obituary
A tragic accident involving a 36-year-old woman occurred early Friday morning, resulting in the closure of Route 322. According to the Derry Township Police Department, Amanda Thome was driving a black GMC Terrain when her vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. The incident took place at approximately 3:28 a.m. on East Governor Road, in the 800 block.
Authorities report that Thome was declared dead at the scene by the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office. There were no other passengers or vehicles involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The stretch of Route 322 between Meadow Lane in Derry Township and Larkspur Drive in South Londonderry Township was shut down for nearly four hours as the police examined the scene. Both the Derry Township Police Department and the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team are continuing their inquiries.
