Fatal Bronx drive-by shooting death of Buriama Sillah – Obituary
Buriama Sillah, a 23-year-old resident, was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in the Bronx, according to police reports on Saturday. The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday as Sillah was positioned at the back of a house on Teller Avenue near East 167th Street in the Melrose neighborhood.
Authorities revealed that Sillah was struck in the chest by gunfire from a black SUV, which then sped away from the scene. Despite his efforts to get himself to Lincoln Hospital, he could not be saved.
As of Saturday morning, the police are still searching for the shooter, actively looking for surveillance footage that might lead to their identification. Sillah resided in the University Heights area of the Bronx, approximately four miles from where the shooting took place.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been disclosed.
