Fatal Decatur car crash claims the life of Billy Hydrick – Obituary
A man from Lacey’s Spring, Billy Hydrick, lost his life Saturday morning in a two-vehicle collision, according to Decatur police.
The crash occurred around 11:46 a.m. on U.S. 31 near Fairway Drive S.E.
Responding to the scene were police, Decatur Fire, and Morgan County EMS, where they found Hydrick, 36, deceased.
Preliminary findings suggest that Hydrick was driving south on U.S. 31 when he veered into the northbound lanes, leading to the collision.
Authorities suspect that Hydrick might have experienced a medical emergency, although the investigation is still ongoing.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to police.
