Two young men lost their lives in a tragic drive-by shooting that occurred in a northeast Las Vegas neighborhood over the weekend.
The incident unfolded late on Saturday night, July 13, in the 3000 block of Kaibab Avenue, close to the intersection of E. Owens Avenue and N. Mojave Road. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a report of gunfire at a residence shortly before midnight.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered one of the victims near a driveway with a gunshot wound; he was declared dead at the scene. Shortly afterward, authorities were informed of a second victim who had arrived at Sunrise Hospital with a gunshot wound, but unfortunately did not survive.
According to a statement from Metro, the two men were shot by someone driving past in a vehicle. By noon on Monday, July 15, the Clark County Coroner’s Office had identified the deceased individuals as Efrain Guevara, 20, and Erick Roque, 18.
