John D. Williams dies in fatal Ashtabula County plane crash
Fatal Ashtabula County plane crash death of John D. Williams – Obituary
One person lost their life following a plane crash in Ashtabula County on Sunday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred in Harpersfield Township near Mini Ranch Trail, just south of Clay Street, shortly before 6 p.m.
Upon arrival, troopers discovered that a fixed-wing single-engine aircraft had crashed to the east of Germack Airport’s runway.
The pilot, the sole occupant of the aircraft, was identified as 75-year-old John D. Williams from Geneva. Sadly, Williams did not survive the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration will be undertaking an independent investigation into the incident.
