Fatal Laventille shooting death of Walter John and Celine Samantha Chadee – Obituary
A double homicide is currently under investigation following a shooting in Laventille on Friday. Walter John, a resident of Bagatelle Road in San Juan and Western Main Road in Carenage, along with Celine Samantha Chadee, were the victims of the incident.
According to the police report, the tragic event unfolded around 3:30 pm as John and Chadee were driving a gray Hyundai Elantra on Plaisance Quarry Road. As they neared Canada Plannings, several armed assailants emerged from various directions and began shooting, hitting John.
The gunfire caused John to lose control of the vehicle, which subsequently crashed into a drain on the western side of the road. Both John and Chadee were declared dead at the scene.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
