Fatal Colorado Springs stabbing death of Andrew Lee Orona – Obituary
The man who was fatally stabbed on the south side of Colorado Springs in July has been identified as Andrew Lee Orona by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.
In a press release, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) stated that officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 700 block of East Cheyenne Road, located in the Stratton Meadows neighborhood, shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Friday, July 12.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Andrew Lee Orona suffering from at least one stab wound. Orona was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
On July 18, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office officially identified the 39-year-old victim as Andrew Lee Orona. Although the coroner will establish the exact cause and manner of death, Orona’s case is being treated as a homicide.
As of Monday, July 22, no suspect had been apprehended in connection with the fatal stabbing. The investigation is ongoing, and CSPD urges anyone with information or who witnessed the crime to contact them at (719) 444-4000. This incident marks the 22nd homicide in Colorado Springs for 2024. At this point in 2023, the city had recorded 16 homicides.
