Fatal Manassas shooting death of Ashlin Yamileth Paz – Obituary
Prince William County Police are continuing their investigation into the tragic shooting of 18-year-old Ashlin Yamileth Paz, which occurred in the Manassas region last Thursday. Authorities are currently searching for a suspect vehicle linked to the incident.
Officers arrived at the scene near Pineview Road and Cregger Lane in Manassas around 8:23 p.m. on July 18. They discovered Paz in a wooded area, suffering from gunshot wounds to her upper body. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Paz was identified as being of no fixed address.
At this stage, police have not identified any suspects or reported additional injuries or property damage. Investigators are working diligently to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and do not believe it was a random act.
A vehicle connected to the shooting was seen leaving the vicinity shortly after the incident. This vehicle is described as a 2017 blue Hyundai Elantra sports edition with a Virginia license plate TVT-8777. It is believed to be in the Leesburg and Loudoun County areas.
