Fatal Aiken County shooting death of Billy J. Reedy Jr. – Obituary
Early Monday, Billy J. Reedy Jr., 46, of Aiken, was discovered shot to death in Aiken County, prompting an investigation into his suspicious death. Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables confirmed the victim’s identity.
Donna Boatwright, 41, also of Aiken, was identified as a suspect in Reedy’s death. She was apprehended around 2 p.m. in Saluda County during a traffic stop conducted by the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office.
Boatwright was arrested without incident and subsequently transferred to the Aiken County Detention Center, where she faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Authorities reported that a deputy patrolling near Vaucluse Road and Senn Street at approximately 5:44 a.m. found a vehicle on the roadside.
Upon investigating, the deputy discovered Reedy’s body with a gunshot wound in a wooded area down an embankment. Reedy was pronounced dead at 6:19 a.m., according to Coroner Ables.
Murder suspect transferred back to Aiken from Augusta
Jaquarez Bibbs, a suspect arrested earlier this month in connection with a fatal shooting two months ago, has been transferred to Aiken from Richmond County.
