Brooklyn Family Tragedy: Four Found Dead in Stabbing Incident

A Brooklyn family is grappling with shock and grief after four of their members, including two young children, were discovered dead inside their residence.
A 24-year-old man has been taken into custody by the police, who allege that he fatally stabbed two women and two children within their Brooklyn apartment. The suspect’s relationship to the victims has not been disclosed by officials.
The horrifying discovery was made by first responders who received a 911 call about a domestic disturbance late Friday night. The incident occurred in an apartment located at Avenue P and West Eighth Street in Bensonhurst.
The victims have been identified as Mavlyuda Fayzieva, 56; Maftuna Khakimova, 27; Kamila Shavkatova, 5; and Timur Shavkatov, 4. Relatives informed CBS New York that Khakimova was the mother of the two children and Fayzieva was her mother-in-law.
A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, told CBS New York that the children’s father is utterly heartbroken. “He’s devastated, saying, ‘I have nothing left. [The suspect] took everything. My two kids, my wife, my mother. He took everything,'” the relative shared.
The family had emigrated from Uzbekistan in 2007, and the relative described the young siblings as affectionate and loving.
Neighbors have recounted the distressing scene following the discovery of the bodies. Juan Perez, a local resident, was awakened by the sound of crying early Saturday morning. “There was a man here who was being consoled because he couldn’t stop sobbing. He seemed to be very close to the family,” Perez recounted.
Jennifer Ponzi, another neighbor, noted, “I saw the police arriving and heard someone screaming.” Another resident reported, “The son was screaming that his mom was dead.”
A neighbor who has lived in the building for around ten years mentioned that her family, also originally from Uzbekistan, had been friendly with the 56-year-old grandmother.
