Fatal Forest Hills shooting death of Gregg Carlson – Obituary
A man who was fatally shot by law enforcement in Forest Hills on Thursday night has been named. On Monday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the deceased as Gregg Carlson, 48.
The incident took place at 9:24 p.m. on July 18, in the 200 block of Glasgow Road, according to Allegheny County dispatch. Officers from various departments responded to a reported disturbance, and upon arrival, they heard the sound of a gun being readied and a shot being fired.
Police said that Carlson, armed with a firearm, was confronted outside a residence. Approximately ten minutes after the initial call to the scene, an officer from the Churchill Police Department shot Carlson in the torso. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
