Lincoln authorities have identified the 62-year-old man who tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and West O Street.
According to the investigation, John Wayne Gross was seated on a raised median when a westbound vehicle veered off course and collided with him. Gross was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have arrested 30-year-old Vanesa Williams on charges of motor vehicle homicide, after determining she was driving under the influence of drugs.
