Fatal Vancouver motorcycle crash death of Ryan Sabet – Obituary

Just a month ago, Ryan Sabet’s family was celebrating his high school graduation and eagerly anticipating his future as a business student at Simon Fraser University.

Tragically, on Saturday afternoon, Sabet’s plans were cut short when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on the Stanley Park causeway and was subsequently struck by an oncoming fire truck.

Despite the quick response and emergency care from Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, Sabet could not be saved.

Family friend Yalda Bahramian shared that Sabet had been elated about a recent job he had secured with the Celebration of Light fireworks event in Vancouver’s West End. “He was absolutely thrilled,” Bahramian recalled. “It’s hard to believe this is real.”

The tight-knit Persian community on the North Shore has been reeling from the news of the tragic accident. Bahramian described Sabet as a gentleman who stood out from his peers, noting his maturity and character.

Having known Sabet’s family—mother Farnaz Namdar, father Sepehr Sabet, and younger brother Rymon—for approximately 20 years, Bahramian had spent significant time with Ryan recently, assisting him with financial planning for his upcoming college journey. “He was a young man full of dreams and joy, a truly bright individual,” Bahramian said.

A memorial has been established to honor Ryan Sabet, 18, who lost his life in the accident involving the fire truck on the Stanley Park causeway.

Bahramian recounted the moment she learned of the tragedy when police visited the Sabet home to deliver the heartbreaking news, and she was given Ryan’s undamaged cellphone to pass on to his mother.

Bahramian was initially puzzled when she received a text from Ryan’s phone written in Persian, a language Ryan did not speak, only to discover that it was Ryan’s mother informing her of his death. At first, Bahramian thought it might be a cruel prank.
