Fatal San Diego shooting death of Senait Legesse – Obituary

Authorities have identified Senait Legesse, 38, as the woman tragically killed last week during a robbery at an apartment complex in the Talmadge area. The incident occurred on July 15, shortly before 9 p.m., at a residence located on Euclid Avenue.

When patrol officers arrived at the scene, they found Legesse suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries at the location.

According to SDPD homicide Lieutenant Jud Campbell, the suspect, a man in dark attire, entered the apartment, brandished a firearm, and stole a wallet from a 59-year-old resident.

When Legesse attempted to intervene, the assailant shot her before fleeing on foot.

On Friday evening, police apprehended Robert Earley Madden, 35, a parolee, on suspicion of Legesse’s murder. Madden is currently being held without bail at San Diego Central Jail and is set to face arraignment on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities have not revealed the specifics of how Madden was identified as the prime suspect. Lieutenant Campbell mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and that there are still potential witnesses who have yet to be interviewed.
