Fatal Talmadge shooting death of Senait Legesse – Obituary
A man suspected of fatally shooting Senait Legesse during a home invasion robbery in Talmadge last week has been apprehended, authorities reported.
Robert Madden, 35, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder, according to Lt. Daniel Meyer of the San Diego Police Department in a news release issued Monday.
The incident took place on Monday, July 15, inside an apartment complex located in the 4400 block of Euclid Avenue.
Police officers discovered 38-year-old Senait Legesse dead at the scene with at least one gunshot wound.
Authorities disclosed that a 59-year-old man was in his apartment with Legesse when an unidentified suspect, armed with a firearm, entered the residence and robbed the man of his wallet.
“The victim tried to intervene in the robbery, and she was shot by the suspect,” Meyer stated. “The suspect then fled on foot.”
On Friday morning, Madden was arrested at 4900 University Avenue, according to the SDPD. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
