The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has identified the victim found with gunshot wounds inside an apartment in Southeast DC on Sunday as 27-year-old Stephon Clemmons, who had no fixed address.
On July 21, around 3 p.m., officers responded to the scene at the 2600 block of Stanton Road, Southeast, where they discovered Clemmons suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Clemmons did not survive.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as detectives seek to uncover the circumstances that led to this tragic event. MPD urges anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text to the tip line at 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
