Fatal Murfreesboro hit-and-run death of Thomas Hunter Conley – Obituary
The Murfreesboro Police Department has identified Thomas Hunter Conley, a 30-year-old bicyclist, as the victim of a recent hit-and-run accident near the Walmart on South Rutherford Boulevard.
According to authorities, Conley was riding his bicycle with one hand on the handlebars while holding an object in his other hand. He lost control and fell, subsequently being struck by a Buick Enclave driven by 41-year-old Isaiah Isom.
Initially, Isom fled the scene. Shortly afterward, two women returned the vehicle to the site of the accident, with one of them falsely claiming to be the driver. When detectives investigated, they disproved the woman’s claim and subsequently questioned Isom at his residence. While he initially denied being involved, he later confessed to being the driver.
The two women who tried to mislead the investigation are being questioned, and their actions will be reviewed by the Rutherford County District Attorney General’s Office. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
