Fatal Boise biking accident death of Robert Maynard – Obituary
Robert Maynard, a 70-year-old resident of Boise, tragically passed away following a biking incident near Military Reserve in the city’s East End.
On February 19, around 3 p.m., Maynard fell from his bicycle while attempting to avoid a vehicle that had the right of way.
This occurred at the intersection of Shenandoah and East Mortimer drives, according to information from the Ada County Coroner’s Office and Boise Police Department.
Boise Police Department spokesperson Haley Williams confirmed to the Idaho Statesman that there was no evidence of a collision between the vehicle and Maynard’s bicycle.
Paramedics transported Maynard to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at 7:43 p.m. the same day.
The Coroner’s Office attributed his death to vertebral fractures and a spinal cord injury, ruling the incident an accident.
Williams noted that no charges are expected in connection with this incident.
