Fatal Tucson crash death of Thidavanh Anna Philavanh – Obituary
The woman who died at the scene of a deadly crash near South Kino Parkway and 36th Street yesterday afternoon has been identified as 49-year-old Thidavanh Anna Philavanh.
In the crash, three other individuals were involved: the driver of a Chrysler 300, who was taken to Banner University Medical Center with minor injuries, and the driver and passenger of a Jeep Wrangler, who were both transported to Banner UMC with severe injuries.
According to authorities, the investigation revealed that the Chrysler 300, driven by 22-year-old Leonardo Daniel Cruz, was traveling south on Kino Parkway. Cruz veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Honda and a Jeep traveling northbound.
An officer from the Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit determined that Cruz was under the influence at the time of the accident.
Following his release from the hospital, Cruz faces charges including 2nd Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and two counts of Felony Criminal Damage. He is currently being held in the Pima County Jail with a bond set at $150,000. The investigation into the incident continues.
