Fatal Bowling Green crash death of Ashley C. Porter – Obituary
The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating a deadly collision that occurred on Wednesday morning. Officers responded to the accident involving two vehicles in the 300 block of Lovers Lane near Briarwood Elementary around 6:13 a.m.
Each vehicle was occupied by a single driver.
Ashley C. Porter, a 40-year-old resident of Bowling Green, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County coroner. The other driver, identified as Ryan T. Bagwell from White House, TN, was taken to a local hospital for medical care.
According to police reports, Bagwell was heading north on Lovers Lane when he crossed into Porter’s lane, who was traveling south. Authorities stated that Bagwell was under the influence at the time of the crash and was subsequently taken into custody at The Medical Center.
Lovers Lane was closed for several hours following the incident but has since reopened.
Bagwell faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide under the influence of drugs or substances, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
He remains in custody at the Warren County Detention Center.
