Kentucky State Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in Trigg County.
Troopers report that the investigation into the July 20 shooting is still ongoing.
According to police, 25-year-old Austin Gardner from Cadiz broke into a residence on Linda Lane around midnight while armed with a weapon.
Gardner forced his way into a room within the house and was subsequently shot by the homeowner, a 21-year-old man from Cadiz, as stated by KSP.
Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene.
KSP has described the shooting as an isolated incident, assuring the public that there is no ongoing threat.
