The Allen County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life Monday evening following a motorcycle accident in downtown Fort Wayne. Brian Michael Scott Cook, a 21-year-old resident of Fort Wayne, was identified as the victim.
The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Clinton and Brackenridge streets, near the United States Postal Service. Authorities reported that Cook’s motorcycle collided with a vehicle that was departing from the post office.
Initially, Cook was reported to be in critical condition, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital that same night. The coroner’s report attributed Cook’s death to multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the crash, and it has been classified as an accident.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, speed and lighting conditions are suspected to have contributed to the accident, which remains under investigation.
