Fatal Gaffney South Carolina pickup truck collision death of Carson Wofford – Obituary
Carson Wofford, a 21-year-old resident of Gaffney, South Carolina, was tragically killed by a pickup truck on Tuesday night.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler reported that Wofford was found lying near the center line on North Logan Street when a Ford F-350 pickup truck, which was towing a flatbed trailer and traveling south, struck her at 11:23 p.m.
Just moments before the accident, Wofford had climbed onto the hood of another vehicle that had stopped because she was in the road.
Surveillance footage from a nearby business revealed that she slid off the hood and fell onto the road before being hit by the truck.
Wofford was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to aid in the investigation of this tragic incident.
