A man identified as Coltin James Lynch has been found dead in Allen County following a shooting incident reported in Portland, Tennessee.
On Wednesday at 9:40 a.m., officers from the Portland Police Department responded to a call about a shooting outside Planet Fitness.
Upon their arrival, police discovered Lynch, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the face. The suspect fled the scene and was later identified as Lynch. He was taken to Skyline Medical Center for medical attention.
During the search for Lynch, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office contacted Portland officers to report that they had potentially located the suspect. At around 10:45 a.m., authorities from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the Adolphus area, specifically near Walkers Chapel Road and Pleasant Ridge Road, where they found Lynch with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation into the incident is being led by Kentucky State Police Post 3, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
