Fatal Los Angeles hit-and-run death of Joseph Benson – Obituary
Joseph Benson, a 64-year-old man, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident in downtown Los Angeles, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday when Benson was walking on Fourth Street near Wall Street. According to LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman, a vehicle made a left turn onto Fourth Street and struck Benson, resulting in his death.
Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene and pronounced Benson deceased.
The driver responsible for the collision fled the scene, and there is currently no description of the vehicle, as reported by Officer Eisenman. The LAPD’s Central Traffic Division is leading the investigation into this tragic event.
