Fatal Great Pond shooting death of Marie Robbins – Obituary
Authorities have determined that the deaths of two individuals from Great Pond were the result of a murder-suicide.
Maine State Police discovered the bodies after a fire engulfed a residence on Old Dam Way on May 20. The deceased were identified as 35-year-old Marie Robbins and 38-year-old Ryan Devisme from Aurora.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner has classified Robbins’ death as a homicide, though the exact cause remains undetermined.
Meanwhile, Devisme’s death was attributed to the combined effects of carbon monoxide poisoning and a gunshot wound, with the ruling of suicide.
Investigators believe Devisme deliberately set fire to the home before fatally shooting himself. Police have confirmed that Robbins and Devisme had a past relationship.
