On July 23, 2024, a tragic head-on collision on US 67 near mile marker 272, east of CR 317, claimed the lives of three individuals, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred at 4:13 PM involving a 2011 Dodge Nitro and a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse.
Robert Schiller, 37, from Glen Rose, Texas, was driving the Dodge Nitro and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Scott May. His body was later taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Chevrolet Traverse was operated by 68-year-old Steven Storie from Godley, Texas, who was also declared dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Scott May.
Accompanying him was his 65-year-old wife, Ann Storie, also from Godley, Texas, who was similarly pronounced dead and transported to the same medical examiner’s office.
Initial reports suggest that the Dodge Nitro, traveling east on US 67, unexpectedly veered into the westbound lane, leading to a direct collision with the Chevrolet Traverse.
All individuals involved in the crash were pronounced deceased, and the Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the incident. Further details are not available at this time.
