On Wednesday morning, Rodney Terry, a 58-year-old employee from Town Creek, tragically lost his life in an accident at the Decatur GE refrigeration plant. GE spokesperson Julie Wood confirmed the incident and stated that the company is collaborating with local authorities to investigate the cause.
Following the accident, the first shift was dismissed early, and production for the second and third shifts was halted to honor the affected team.
Wood expressed the company’s deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting that GE Appliances is actively working with law enforcement to uncover the details of this unfortunate event while also reaching out to Terry’s family to offer support.
Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn has officially identified the deceased as Rodney Terry. In a statement released later in the day, GE extended its condolences, acknowledging Terry’s contributions and the respect he earned from his colleagues.
