Fatal Le Sueur County house fire death of Roman Jindra and Betty Jindra – Obituary

A tragic house fire in Le Sueur County has claimed the lives of a couple in their 70s.

The victims, identified as 76-year-old Roman Jindra and 73-year-old Betty Jindra, were found deceased in their home after a blaze engulfed their residence. Betty Jindra had called 911 to report the fire around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

Firefighters who responded to the scene were initially repelled by intense smoke and heat.

Once they managed to enter the house, they discovered both individuals in the kitchen area. Despite their efforts to save them, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished by the responding crews. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, conducted by the state fire marshal and the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office.

While there was lightning in the vicinity at the time, authorities have not yet determined if it played any role in starting the fire.
