Fatal Lemon Grove hit-and-run death of Brian Colvin – Obituary
Authorities have named 44-year-old Brian Colvin as the victim of a recent hit-and-run in Lemon Grove.
Deputies were dispatched early Monday morning to the 8200 block of Broadway following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. They arrived around 2:15 a.m. to find Colvin, from Spring Valley, injured and lying in the street.
Despite being rushed to a hospital by paramedics, Colvin could not survive his injuries. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has classified his death as a homicide.
Sheriff’s Lt. Michael Krugh reported that witnesses saw Colvin standing in front of a vehicle and conversing with its occupants when the driver deliberately accelerated and hit him before fleeing the scene.
The Sheriff’s homicide unit is currently investigating the motives and circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
