Fatal Waite Park crane accident death of Dylan Barthel – Obituary
Authorities in central Minnesota report that Dylan Barthel tragically passed away after a crane component collapsed onto him Tuesday morning at a construction site.
According to the Waite Park Police Department, the accident occurred on the 400 block of Seventh Avenue North just before 11 a.m.
As a large section of the crane was being assembled, it fell from an elevated position, trapping Barthel beneath it. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 38-year-old Dylan Barthel from Sartell. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries.
