The Smithville Police Department has confirmed the identity of a body discovered in a wooded area over the weekend.
The remains, which were found on July 22 near 194th Terrace, have been identified as 25-year-old Josiah Papa.
Papa, a resident of Leavenworth, had been reported missing since July 12, with his last known location being in Smithville.
Authorities have stated that the investigation into his death is ongoing.
