Fatal Gateshead shooting death of Laura Robson – Obituary
A man faces murder charges after the discovery of a woman’s body at a residence in Gateshead earlier this week.
Police responded to reports of a disturbance on Appledore Close around 10:20 pm, where they found Laura Robson, aged 37, with injuries indicative of an assault. Despite immediate medical attention, Laura succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
Ben Hughes, aged 38 and residing on Appledore Close, has been accused of her murder and is scheduled to appear before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court today. Northumbria Police have confirmed the charges as their investigation continues.
According to a police statement, officers were alerted to the disturbance on Monday evening. Emergency services arrived to find Laura Robson critically injured.
Tragically, despite efforts by paramedics, she could not be revived. Family Liaison Officers are providing support to Laura’s next of kin during this difficult time.
Following the incident, investigators swiftly arrested Ben Hughes. He now faces a murder charge in connection with Laura Robson’s death.
