Fatal St Andrew shooting death of Mohan Grant – Obituary
Late Wednesday night, 43-year-old decorator Mohan Grant was fatally shot on Delamere Avenue in St Andrew.
The shooting is suspected to be linked to an acid attack on a woman at Pavillion Mall in Half-Way-Tree earlier that day.
According to police reports, around 11:10 p.m., Grant was riding his motorcycle when a black car approached an intersection and several men inside opened fire. Grant was struck by the bullets and died at the scene.
The authorities are currently following various leads and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
Earlier in the day, at approximately 1:00 p.m., two women were injured in an acid attack at the Pavillion Mall. Two men on a motorcycle entered the mall, reached the second floor, and threw a corrosive substance at the women. The attackers fled the scene, and a security guard fired at them in pursuit.
The woman believed to have been the primary target remains hospitalized with severe burns covering much of her body.
Senior police officials suggest that Grant might have been targeted due to a possible connection between the attack and a relative of his. Investigations into both the shooting and the acid attack are still ongoing.
