The identity of the woman killed in the tragic shooting at a Collierville supermarket in Tennessee has been confirmed by her family through a social media statement.
Olivia King, identified by her son in a Facebook post late Thursday, was named as the victim. The post also included a plea for “God’s mercy on the shooter and his family.”
The statement from her family read: “Our hearts are shattered by this inexplicable act of violence. We ask for prayers for our beloved mother, Olivia King, and for all those impacted by today’s events. We also request prayers for the shooter and his family, hoping for God’s mercy. Thank you.”

The incident at the Collierville Kroger grocery store, located in an affluent area of Tennessee, resulted in at least two fatalities, including the shooter, and left 12 others injured on Thursday afternoon. According to officials, the shooter died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane reported that the injured individuals were transported to hospitals, some with serious wounds.
A Kroger employee, Brignetta Dickerson, who was working at the store during the shooting, described the onset of the attack. She initially mistook the noise for popping balloons before realizing the danger as the gunman began shooting.
“He just kept firing continuously,” Dickerson recounted. “He shot one of my co-workers in the head and another customer in the stomach.”
Police were alerted to the shooting around 1:30 p.m. and responded promptly. Upon arrival, they discovered multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
