Fatal Carson freeway crash death of Rebecca Chavez – Obituary
Rebecca Chavez, a 42-year-old woman, tragically lost her life Wednesday night when she was hit by a semitractor-trailer on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in the Carson area.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, Chavez was crossing the freeway near the Carson Street off-ramp at approximately 9:32 p.m. when the accident occurred.
California Highway Patrol Officer Sean Lough reported that Chavez was found in the middle lanes of the freeway and was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semitractor-trailer stayed at the location and is cooperating with the authorities.
Following the incident, a SigAlert was issued, leading to the temporary closure of two lanes on the freeway while the investigation continued.
