Toronto police have confirmed that Sarah Prehay, 23, was one of the victims of a deadly shooting at a Scarborough plaza. The tragic event occurred early Wednesday morning around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Ellesmere Road and Brimley Road.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered four individuals with gunshot wounds. Sarah Prehay, who was in critical condition, was rushed to a trauma center but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries later in the hospital.
Braydon McCann, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other men, who also sustained gunshot wounds, are recovering in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Police have released Prehay’s name but have not yet identified any suspects or confirmed if the shooting was targeted. Detective Rod Benson stated that multiple firearms were likely involved, and approximately 50 shell casings were found at the scene.
