A 33-year-old man, identified as Sean Miller from Tacoma, was fatally shot on July 15. Miller sustained multiple gunshot wounds near East R Street and East 28th Street, with his death classified as a homicide by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Miller was struck by bullets just before 8 p.m. that evening and later succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts near I-5 and the Emerald Queen Casino, as previously reported by The News Tribune.
Earlier in the day, Miller had an encounter with the suspected shooter at a different location in Tacoma. The situation escalated into a dispute, prompting the shooter to follow Miller by car until they reached East 28th Street, where the gunfire occurred.
Authorities have made contact with the alleged shooter, who has hired an attorney, provided a statement, and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made.
