Authorities have identified Devin Michael Jones of Laurel as the victim of a tragic early morning accident that occurred near Delta Bingo on Laurel Meade Road earlier this week.
According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, emergency services were dispatched at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, to the 3600 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road, specifically at the access road leading to the bingo hall. There, officers discovered Jones with injuries from the crash.
Jones received on-site medical care before being transported to Howard General Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries, as reported by officials on Friday.
Investigators revealed that an unidentified vehicle made a right turn from eastbound Laurel Fort Meade Road onto a lesser-known road between 3607 and 3601 Laurel Fort Meade Road, colliding with Jones before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
Authorities believe that the vehicle involved likely sustained damage to its undercarriage and front bumper. The hit-and-run incident is still under investigation.
