Fatal Egg Harbor Township Car Crash Death of Escarlin Suriel and Gabriella Constrantino – Obituary
Multiple lives were tragically lost following a severe multi-car accident Friday night in South Jersey.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the 8000 block of Black Horse Pike in West Atlantic City, Egg Harbor Township.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 displayed the involvement of at least three vehicles, one of which was engulfed in flames.
According to authorities, a 2017 silver Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Black Horse Pike when it suddenly veered into the eastbound lanes, driving in the wrong direction.
The silver Nissan collided head-on with a 2018 Kia Forte, pushing the Kia backward into a 2020 red Nissan Sentra that was also in the eastbound lanes. Debris from the collision struck a fourth vehicle, a 2019 silver Toyota Yaris.
The impact caused the 2017 silver Nissan Sentra to ignite. Multiple bystanders rushed to assist, pulling occupants from the burning car before it was completely consumed by flames.
Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in the accident. The victims were identified as 21-year-old Escarlin Suriel of Atlantic City, the driver of the Kia Forte, and 22-year-old Gabriella Constrantino of Pleasantville, a passenger in the silver Nissan Sentra.
Police reported that two juvenile passengers from the silver Nissan were hospitalized in critical condition. Another passenger, a 25-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was also hospitalized. A good Samaritan who aided the occupants of the silver Nissan Sentra was taken to the hospital, though his condition remains unknown.
Additionally, a 27-year-old male passenger from the Kia Forte suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, while two occupants of the red Nissan were treated for minor injuries.
